Chris Marchini (Mar-Kee-Nee) is a quilt pattern designer putting his own unique twist on this timeless artform. After watching quilting videos on YouTube for years, in 2018 he decided to make a quilt for his mother-in-law for Christmas… that led to him making additional quilts for more family members as gifts. After not being able to find a pattern to match with an idea for a quilt, he started drafting his own patterns and launched his brand Rose City Originals. Chris has gained popularity online, growing a large audience on TikTok, Instagram & YouTube where he posts short videos ranging from how-to tutorials to fabric pulls for upcoming projects. He's become known as "the dice guy" thanks to his Year-Long Community Quilt where he uses a 20 sided die to pick random quilt blocks and his followers can actively participate in its creation. Chris is excited to now bring his distinctive style to the quilting community through surface design, juxtaposing bright and bold colors with dramatic, gothic-inspired motifs for a truly unique aesthetic.
