I grew up in rural Southern Illinois on land that has been passed down through my family for generations. I spent my childhood running through the creek and climbing trees, watercolor painting at my grandparents kitchen table overlooking the garden, cooking, and sewing. My world was saturated in the natural and domestic spheres a dynamic harmony ever present between creation and creating.
I moved to New Orleans for college and have spent most of my adult life surrounded by the joy and celebration of this creative city. My art combines the natural world of my childhood with the colorful vibrancy of New Orleans. I believe my role as an artist and textile designer is to open my eyes, see and notice the beauty around me, and synthesize those experiences into tangible form.
I have a B.A. in English and Studio Art (Painting) from Tulane University and an M.A. in Fibers (Textile Design/Print & Pattern) from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Ive worked in the print department at Lilly Pulitzers headquarters, designed over a dozen fabric collections with Dear Stella Fabrics, and Ive had products in Target and HomeGoods stores. My fine art work has been featured in museum exhibitions across the country and Ive worked as an adjunct art professor. I live and work from my home painting and pottery studio with my husband, Andrew, and our daughters, Laurel and Lilla.
